Thursday's Special Moment

Last night was a very exciting night for us.  Connor was one of the 18 kindergarteners (3 from ach class) from his school to participate in what they called a Festival of Movement.  Basically, each grade in each elementary school in the county plus the middle schools joined together at the local university basketball gym to perform for us.  Each grade did a presentation together to music.  It was so super cute.  I knew there would be a lot of people there but I never dreamed it would cause such traffic in town!  We left in plenty of time to get there by the 6:00 we had been asked to have Connor there.  Once we FINALLY got to the university, I made an executive decision that Connor and I were going to jump out of the car and start walking to the gym.  The traffic was so bad and we just kept getting farther and farther away from the gym trying to find a parking spot.

Once we got in there I had to find Connor's school for him to sit with them.  I could not believe how full the gym was and it was still 20 minutes before it started!

Thank goodness for cell phones or Aaron and his mom would never have found me!  The program included three different schools' jump rope team (which was amazing to watch), a dribbling team from a school or two (again, AMAZING!!) and then, of course, each grades' presentation.  Here are the kindergarteners and their presentation.

The very last part of the night was the 2nd graders using the parachutes to a song about Fireflies.  Some of the children had little flashlights simulating the fireflies lighting up.  They turned out part of the lights and it was just the neatest (and prettiest) thing ever.  I really should have taken a picture.

We had such a great time.  It made for a very late night for my little guys, but a great time was had by all!!
