Kindergarten Registration

Well, I survived Kindergarten registeration with only feeling a few tears form but never falling!  I picked up Connor from the church Tuesday afternoon and headed for his new school.  Our first stop was the library to fill out paperwork and show our proof of address to prove we were zoned for that school.  They also had nap maps out for the kids to look at and parents to buy.  Since I'll be picking Connor up at 2:00, a nap mat is not necessary.  They also had school spirit merchandise to purchase.  One neat thing they had was the school supplies that you would need already purchased.  So, all I had to do was write the check and they will take care of the supplies and get exactly what the teachers want.

After we finished in the library we were off to meet each of the 6 teachers for kindergarten.  Each teacher was so sweet.  They each had stations set up in their classroom with kindergarten activities to participate in.  In one of the classrooms the teacher wrote his name on a piece of construction paper.  Then she instructed him to trace his name in different colors with markers to make it look like a rainbow.  Another classroom had different little objects that that were different colors and shapes and he had sort them according to color or type of item.  Anther teacher had a paper with various shapes on it for him to cut out.  He chose to pick the decagon to cut out.  I was impressed because that was obviously the most challenging one to cut out.  I figured he'd be ready to move on, but he decided to he wanted to cut out every shape on the page.   You get the picture.

After visiting all of the teachers, we headed to the cafeteria for a treat bag.  The lady also showed him how to go through the lunch line and also how to punch in his code for his lunch.  So, that was our first trip to school.  Connor is so very excited about starting.  I, on the other hand, will be quite teary-eyed on the first day.
