Easter Morning

It's Easter!!  I've been working with Connor to understand what Good Friday is all about and what Easter is all about.  I really want him to understand the true meaning and not get all wrapped up in the Easter Bunny, which is fun, but not the true meaning of Easter.  He's done very well and can answer any basic question about Good Friday and Easter.

We had a terrific morning this morning.  It started with two very happy little boys waking up in terrific moods.  We got them all ready for church and then headed downstairs to see what the Easter Bunny had brought.  Connor and I prepared his and Blake's baskets last night with grass and placed them at the front door for the Easter Bunny to fill.  They got lots of fun stuff and of course some candy and to get rid of the sugar on their teeth from the candy...a new toothbrush which the Easter Bunny brings every year.  (Thanks Brenda G for the great idea/tradition!!)  Before Connor went to bed last night he said that he hoped he got a new toothbrush from the Easter Bunny.  His had Buzz Lightyear on it just like his new toothpaste!

My sweet boys...This picture makes my heat smile!!!

Connor picked out both of these baskets last year.  Wasn't what I had in mind for either of them, but Connor insisted on having the snake basket, and he thought Blake needed the airplane basket.

We headed out to church for breakfast, Sunday School and of course Worship Service which was spectacular.  Then we met up with Aaron's brother and his wife for lunch follow.  Blake was so exhausted I figured he'd take a great nap.  But, he only slept for an hour in the car on the way to Nana and Grandaddy's house.  So, we're now childless and not sure what to do with ourselves.  We went to a friend's house tonight for a grillout and then hung out at their fire pit.  It was nice to just sit and relax and not worry about the kids running off or Blake getting into the fire pit.  I know they are having a great time with Nana and Grandaddy and will for the rest of the week.  Now I think I"ll head off to bed.  Good night all!
