Kindergarten Shots

Considering kindergarten registration is a week from Tuesday, I went ahead and scheduled Connor's 5 year check-up so that we could have the shots completed that we needed in order to get him registered.  So, I picked up Connor from the church this afternoon, and we went to the doctor's office.  We had tried to get this done last Monday but after waiting 40 minutes I told them we'd have to leave because Connor had swimming lessons.  Today was a much better day to take care of it.  There were only 4 cars in the parking lot instead of more than I could count.  This yearly check-up involved checking his hearing, vision, blood pressure along with the other standards.  He checked out great.  The doctor did prescribe some medicine for car sickness.  Connor has gotten car sick probably half a dozen times in the past 2 years.  He always blames it on Aaron's driving!  HA!!  Then came shot time.  He got 4 shots and did terrific!!  He didn't cry at all.  The nurse told him she thought he was the first kid that age since she has worked there not to cry while getting shots!

Once she got finished, she told him she had to go get his really big prize.  And what was it???  A new backpack for school!  He was so excited.  It has so many zippers and that just excited him to death.  Nana always buys the grandkids their new backpacks for school (Going to pick out a new backpack is one of their special things each grandchild does with Nana every year), so I asked Connor what he was going to do with this backpack.  His solution?  Take Nana's bp the first day, other bp next day, Nana's day 3 and so on!  He is so funny! I told him he could have a special treat for being so good and not crying.  So, he decided he wanted a Happy Meal from McDonald's for supper because "they have the best toys", not food, toys.  We see he has his priorities in line, huh?
