Kindergarten Registration

Well, I survived Kindergarten registeration with only feeling a few tears form but never falling!  I picked up Connor from the church Tuesday afternoon and headed for his new school.  Our first stop was the library to fill out paperwork and show our proof of address to prove we were zoned for that school.  They also had nap maps out for the kids to look at and parents to buy.  Since I'll be picking Connor up at 2:00, a nap mat is not necessary.  They also had school spirit merchandise to purchase.  One neat thing they had was the school supplies that you would need already purchased.  So, all I had to do was write the check and they will take care of the supplies and get exactly what the teachers want.

After we finished in the library we were off to meet each of the 6 teachers for kindergarten.  Each teacher was so sweet.  They each had stations set up in their classroom with kindergarten activities to participate in.  In one of the classrooms the teacher wrote his name on a piece of construction paper.  Then she instructed him to trace his name in different colors with markers to make it look like a rainbow.  Another classroom had different little objects that that were different colors and shapes and he had sort them according to color or type of item.  Anther teacher had a paper with various shapes on it for him to cut out.  He chose to pick the decagon to cut out.  I was impressed because that was obviously the most challenging one to cut out.  I figured he'd be ready to move on, but he decided to he wanted to cut out every shape on the page.   You get the picture.

After visiting all of the teachers, we headed to the cafeteria for a treat bag.  The lady also showed him how to go through the lunch line and also how to punch in his code for his lunch.  So, that was our first trip to school.  Connor is so very excited about starting.  I, on the other hand, will be quite teary-eyed on the first day.

Half Marathon

Well, I can officially say that I have attended a Marathon now.  Friday morning after dropping Blake off at Mother's Day Out, I came back to pick up Jill, and she, Connor and I headed off to Nashville.  My sister-in-law was going to bringing my niece, so Connor wanted to tag along and hang out with Susie.  First stop...Target.  Can't go to Nashville without a Target and Panara stop, right?  After these two stops we headed downtown to the Expo to gather our t-shirts and race bib (number) and wander around the Expo to see all of the cool things to buy.  Connor was so terrific.  We had to walk a pretty good distance from our car to the Expo and then lots of walking inside.  He did ride on my back several times, but he never complained.  He did ask every few minutes if we were almost done, but no complaining.  It could have been disasterous, but it was a very pleasant experience for the 3 of us.

After we left the Expo headed to our hotel to meet the in-laws and my niece and drop Connor off with them.  Then, Jill and I headed out to Opry Mills for some shopping and meeting up with some of the other girls doing the race.  I use to not like shopping by myself or being by myself, but I guess after being a mom, sometimes you just need a few minutes of alone, quiet time.  So, we split up and I just meandered around the kid's clothing stores.  I hate buying clothes for myself.  It is so hard for me to find things I like or fit good but on the other hand, I LOVE to buy clothes for my kids.

After we left there, we headed to pick up my sister-in-law from the hotel and off to eat supper at the Tin Angel.  We met up with 4 other people that were doing the race that we knew from the Y.  We had such a great time together.  Not to mention the great food.  I had the All In Pasta with added Shrimp.  It was pasta (obviously) with diced tomatoes, artichoke and spinach in it.  I just discovered a few weeks ago that I really like, no, LOVE artichoke.  Obviously I've eaten it before in spinach and artichoke dip, but never big chunks in food until about 3 weeks ago.  I love it!!  Everyone enjoyed their food.

Race day had finally come.  Unfortunately due to early knee injuries, my doctor said it was not going to be possible for me to race this time.  My father-in-law got up very early with Joy and Jill to get them to the start line.  They were there by 5:15 ready to go!  We met back up with them at mile 9 around 8:15.  How neat to watch all of these people that have trained for months all racing for the same finish line.  After watching all of our people race past the 9 mile mark we hopped back in the van and headed to the finish line.  We didn't see any of them finish.  But, they all did finish!!!  Just as we started heading back to the car it started raining.  And, we had a fairly good distance to go in the rain.  Thankfully, it didn't rain really hard the entire time back to the car.  Once we all got back to the car we went back to the hotel.  We had all planned to eat lunch together but due to the weather, I decided it was in my best interest to head back home.

What a great weekend.  I hope that next year I'm able to run with them.  Connor is wanting to take part in the Kid's Marathon next year as well as my niece and nephew.  What fun that will be!!

Where Has the Time Gone?

I can't believe I'm going to take you to kingergarten registration next Tuesday.  Where has the time gone?  It seems like only yesterday you were born very, very late at night.  I had to wait 3 hours to see you.  Still to this day I don't know why I had to wait so long.  You were so beautiful.  We all had to look to see if you had the big toe that the 3D ultra sound showed, and you did.  But, it was precious.  You were the best baby from the beginning.  Even though I had to endure 2 weeks of severe headaches because of my epideral, it was all worth it.  I just hated not being able to sit up and hold you, jump up in the middle of the night to get you up when you were hungry.  I just felt so helpless.  But, you were perfect.  That was all the mattered.  You were a traveling little guy.  At only 2 or 3 weeks old we headed off to meet Granddaddy for the first time at the airport.  He was in Iraq and came home to see you for his 2 week leave.  At three months we went and stayed with Nana for a week.  On the trip home we had a major blow-out with your diaper.  Nana and I just looked at each other trying to figure out where to start to clean you up.  What a sight!!  You were so good until you figured out that Nana and I were starting to get stressed trying to figure out where to start.  Then December rolled around.  You got to meet Granddaddy for the second time.  Granddaddy was home from Iraq for good this time!!

The first year flew by.  We only celebrated your birthday at 3 different parties! HA!!  Your first plane ride went so smoothly to Pennsylvania that passengers complimented on how well behaved you were.  You enjoyed your first trip to the beach just days after your first birthday which involved your second plane trip.  You were a pro by then.  You just loved it. You visited Grandma at the nursing home and entertained many residents with your cuteness.  You had picnics with Great-Grandma in the apartment on her bed.  You were her little buddy.

The second year went even faster, although we did scale back the parties to only 2 instead of 3.  You helped us move into our new house.  I can remember you helping me to hang clothes up on the bottom shelf as you strained to reach up.  We had 2 great-grandmother's die that year.  I can remember you walking over to Great-Grandma's casket at the grave yard and blowing her a kiss.  Priceless.  Something I'll never forget.  And, you were just 25 months old.  And then 3 months later we experienced the same heart break.  You knew you were suppose to be good and quiet.  And, you did.  You just sat there through the funeral being the best little guy ever.  You moved into your big boy bed..bunk beds. You LOVED your new bed.  We giggled as we told you you were going to have a little brother or sister and your response was "why?"

By the time year 3 came, you only had 1 birthday party.  Don't worry, we'll never go to not having any parties as long as you want them.  You started swimming lessons just before you turned 3.  "What a little fish" all of the teachers would say.  It didn't matter how cold the water was, your lips blue and teeth chattering, you didn't want to get out.  You wanted to swim.  You were so excited to go into the ultra sound room with us to see if you were going to have a little brother or little sister.  From the beginning you wanted a sister and within a week or two of going for the ultra sound you changed your mind.  Good thing because you found out you were going to have a brother!  Every night we'd hear "How much wonger until Blake gets here?  He's taking a wong time to get out!"  Daddy and I left for the hospital very early.  When you woke up you yelled down to Nana that "Blake is probably looking for me".  Your face was priceless the first time you laid eyes on him.  You were and are the best big brother ever!

Year 4.  Yes, we had another party.  Lots of fun with all your friends at our house playing outside with the most awesome R2D2 cake ever!  Our annual beach trip was a blast again, of course.  This year you didn't wear floaties or a float belt at all.  You were the little swimmer ever.  You just love the beach.  If I don't keep a close eye on you, you and Nana might run away and go live at the beach together.  We also decided it was time for a Disney World Trip.  You were only a little over 39 inches tall.  We really needed you to be 40 inches in order to ride a lot of the bigger kids rides including Splash Mountain.  You made it!!!  We had the best time.  You and Blake were both the best kids at Disney World.  I wouldn't change a thing about taking both of you at the ages that you were for anything.  It was the best vacation ever.  You started writing your letters and even started writing your own name just about 2 weeks before you turned 4.  You were very eager to learn anything about anything.  You've been ready for real school for some time now.  You experienced your first sleep over this year and had a blast.

Now, we've had kindergarten shots, school registration is next week and kindergarten is just around the corner.  I can't believe you are about to turn 5.  The years have flown by just like everybody told me they would.  We have had the best (almost) 5 years.  We love you so much and counting having you in our family as one of the best things that has ever happened to us.  We love you, Connor, so much!!!

Busy Saturday

Our morning started off pretty slow.  Since Connor's soccer game wasn't until 12:00, we were able to take it easy for the first part of the day.  We weren't really sure if Connor was going to play or not.  He's being going through a stage where he will refuse to go out and play.  So, Aaron told him today was the day that he needed to decide if he was going to play or not.  If he wasn't, we were done for the season.  He played the 1st and 3rd quarter.  The 3rd quarter he played goalie.  He did spectacular considering I don't really think he knew what he was doing at first.  But, if I remember correctly he caught about 4 of the balls and only 1 or 2 made it in the goal.

Today was also Healthy Kids Day at the Y.  So, when we got finished with the game we headed over to the other side of the Y to check out all of the stuff over there.  Blake especially loved the little petting zoo.  We didn't stick around very long.  It was nap time for both kids, and they both needed bathes before that because when they got up from nap we were headed to a birthday party.

Connor has a friend, Jaxson, from MDO that invited him to his party at the Bounce Zone.  It is a really fun place for a party.  They had 4 of their gigantic blow up houses/mazes blown up for the kids.  Blake even had a great time.  Blake chowed down on his cake and ice cream.  Of course, Connor really didn't eat that much.

Now home, two kids in bed (well, Connor is watching a movie in my bed) and I think I'm headed that way as well or maybe I'll read a book.  Haven't decided that yet.

Kindergarten Shots

Considering kindergarten registration is a week from Tuesday, I went ahead and scheduled Connor's 5 year check-up so that we could have the shots completed that we needed in order to get him registered.  So, I picked up Connor from the church this afternoon, and we went to the doctor's office.  We had tried to get this done last Monday but after waiting 40 minutes I told them we'd have to leave because Connor had swimming lessons.  Today was a much better day to take care of it.  There were only 4 cars in the parking lot instead of more than I could count.  This yearly check-up involved checking his hearing, vision, blood pressure along with the other standards.  He checked out great.  The doctor did prescribe some medicine for car sickness.  Connor has gotten car sick probably half a dozen times in the past 2 years.  He always blames it on Aaron's driving!  HA!!  Then came shot time.  He got 4 shots and did terrific!!  He didn't cry at all.  The nurse told him she thought he was the first kid that age since she has worked there not to cry while getting shots!

Once she got finished, she told him she had to go get his really big prize.  And what was it???  A new backpack for school!  He was so excited.  It has so many zippers and that just excited him to death.  Nana always buys the grandkids their new backpacks for school (Going to pick out a new backpack is one of their special things each grandchild does with Nana every year), so I asked Connor what he was going to do with this backpack.  His solution?  Take Nana's bp the first day, other bp next day, Nana's day 3 and so on!  He is so funny! I told him he could have a special treat for being so good and not crying.  So, he decided he wanted a Happy Meal from McDonald's for supper because "they have the best toys", not food, toys.  We see he has his priorities in line, huh?

Spring Fun Outside

I am so thankful for the wonderful weather we have been having.  Last night was the first night in several days that we didn't spend the evening outside (we were at church until after dark).  Connor has started learning to ride his bike with no training wheels!  His friend across the street that is 2 months younger than Connor learned last summer, so Connor has been eager to learn just like Spencer.  Plus, he's noticed that the training wheels slow him down, and he can't keep up with Spencer.  It's all about speed!  Hopefully he'll have it down pat in the next couple of days.  He's doing pretty good but for some reason he decides to stop peddling and then, of course, he falls.  He he would just keep peddling he'd be riding with no problems.  I thought I had a couple of pictures, but they were just videos.  I'll try to get some tonight and post them tomorrow.

The boys have also enjoyed riding their other vehicles around.  Blake decided he wanted to ride Connor's scooter as well.  Very cute, but not the safest thing ever!  HA!

The boys going for a ride together

He's not good at steering yet.

Oops, ran out of gas.  Like father, like son.

Tuesday night Aaron got the 'great' idea to get the water balloons out too.  So, Connor and Spencer had the best time with Aaron throwing water balloons at them.  They did not want to stop.  Not to worry, we probably have 450 left!  (Thanks, Aunt Joy!!)

Our day today has been spent by going to the Y for me to workout and then a trip to Hobby Lobby.  I had Connor's 1 year picture framed and it hangs in our foyer.  I recently got Blake's 1 year picture back from the photographer, so I thought I'd go get it framed today.  The only one they had that matched Connor's frame had a huge gash on one side.  So, they've ordered me one.  Hopefully I'll have it Tuesday.  I'm anxious to have both of them hanging up in the foyer.  We then left Hobby Lobby to get Aaron for lunch.  We went to Chick-fil-a.  We use to go once every week or so, but we haven't been in forever, so we went to eat and let the kids play around for a while.

When we got home I put Blake to bed, and he's still sleeping 3 1/2 hours later!  I put  Connor down a little later, and he's still down as well too.  Connor has soccer practice at 5:15, so I'll have to get them up and going here pretty soon. I'm thinking that I'll get Aaron to grill hamburgers tonight.  I try to do something fast and easy on soccer nights so that we aren't eating really late.  And, with the beautiful weather, I want Connor and Blake to have time to play outside before it gets dark.  More memories to make playing outside tonight!

Mini Vacation

Okay, so I didn't get back on here to blog yesterday afternoon.  I had opened at the Y for the 3 day in 4 days (today is 4 days in 5 days) and I was exhausted, so I napped.  That was my story today too except I don't think I actually ever fell asleep, just rested.  Anyway, back to our story.

So, last week was somewhat of a relaxing week for me.  The boys went to the in-law's house for the week.  They are so sweet to take the boys about 3 times a year for a week at a time.  Connor always has a blast and this was Blake's first visit just Connor and himself.  Aaron had a business trip to Atlanta, so since the boys were gone I decided to tag along.  And, I am so glad I did.

We left Monday afternoon for Atlanta.  Our directions to our hotel took us through some of the nicest neighborhoods I have ever seen.  I've seen some pretty big houses in Memphis and Collierville, but it was nothing compared to what some of these homes looked like.  I mean, I bet most of them were at least 10,000 square feet.  Just MONSTERS!!  They were beautiful, but boy I shouldn't wouldn't want to be in charge of cleaning those.  Of course, cleaning is what I thought about!  HA!!  Anyways, once we got there we went to the Atlanta Fish Market for supper.  Aaron had been there the last time he had a meeting there.  So, he insisted that I'd love it.  It was pretty good.  After supper we headed on out to find our hotel.

On the way up the street we noticed there were 2 Hyatts.  One very basic but nice hotel and then the other was amazingly beautiful Hyatt.  Figuring that our hotel was the basic but nice hotel, we decided anyways to just pull up to the valet only Hyatt hotel to just see what their address just in hopes that it was the address of our hotel.  Just as we figured, it was not our hotel.  That was okay.  We headed on over to our hotel and checked in.  It was nice and we enjoyed our stay there.

Aaron had meetings from 8:30-5:30 Tuesday-Thursday, so I had lots of time to do whatever I wanted to do.  So, Tuesday I waited around the hotel until around 9:45 just so that the stores would be open when I went out walking.  I first stopped off at the Chick-fil-a half a block from our hotel for a chicken biscuit and sweet tea.  Then off on an adventure that I wasn't sure where it would lead to.  Aaron had said there was tons of shopping all along this road, and I took his word at it.  But, really there wasn't.  It was mostly office buildings and restaurants.  So, I walked and walked and walked for what seemed like forever.  Of course, wearing sandals with heels will always make you feel as though you've walked further than you have.  I think now that I pushed more crosswalk buttons this past week alone than I have in my entire life.  I've just never had the need to cross so many busy streets!!!

So, after walking about 30 minutes I finally saw the Lenox Mall.  One more busy intersection to cross!  Since I had walked, I really didn't need to do much shopping because I'd have to tote it all the way back to the hotel.  So, I only purchased a couple of things (including some stocking stuffers!!) and found several things in Crate and Barrel that I wanted, so I brought Aaron back that night to get my Crate and Barrel purchase.  We went to eat supper at Maggiano's.  We shared a meal of lobster fettuccine and then of course Tiramisu.

Wednesday I did a little shopping right around our hotel. I didn't venture out too far.  I had had a crick in my neck and shoulders since Sunday and my left arm hurt so bad that I couldn't raise it up.  I had my normal monthly chiropractor visit the Monday that we left for Atlanta and he had helped but I was still hurting.  Well, in my adventures for the day I spotted a Massage Envy!!!  I had gone to one while at the beach a couple of years ago.  So, I went to see if they could work me in that afternoon.  They were able to about 2 hours later.  So, I just headed back to the hotel to just relax and read until massage time.  She helped so much.  I was extremely sore for 2 days.  But, when I left Massage Envy I no longer had a crick and I could raise my arm all the way up!!!  Money and time well spent.  Aaron and I ate at Maggiano's again Wednesday night.  We went driving around trying to figure out where to eat and both decided we'd be happy to eat there again.

Thursday I hung around the hotel until check-out time and read.  Then I headed out to the mall again, this time driving.  I stayed there until Aaron called and told me he was ready to leave.  When I went to the car it was coming a serious flood!!  I had taken my umbrella in but that sure didn't help the lower part of my body at all.  My legs and feet were drenched!!  We got home Thursday night and the boys came home Friday afternoon.

Connor had his first soccer game Saturday.  Nana and Grandaddy stayed around to watch the game and then left out.  But, Pa also came and stuck around until Sunday afternoon.  Connor went with my dad to some softball games at the local university here.  They both had a great time.  We went to church on Sunday morning and then Dad went back to the softball fields.  But, we all stayed here and napped all afternoon.  It was great.  After naps we went outside and Connor started learning to ride his bike.  Fun times!!

Yes, I am Still Around!

Sorry that I haven't blogged in over a week now.  But, life has been very busy.  Aaron and I were gone last week and the kids were with their grandparents.  Then, we had company all weekend.  I plan to sit down and do some serious blogging this afternoon when the kids go down for a nap.  So, check back later to see how we all spent our week last week.

Easter Morning

It's Easter!!  I've been working with Connor to understand what Good Friday is all about and what Easter is all about.  I really want him to understand the true meaning and not get all wrapped up in the Easter Bunny, which is fun, but not the true meaning of Easter.  He's done very well and can answer any basic question about Good Friday and Easter.

We had a terrific morning this morning.  It started with two very happy little boys waking up in terrific moods.  We got them all ready for church and then headed downstairs to see what the Easter Bunny had brought.  Connor and I prepared his and Blake's baskets last night with grass and placed them at the front door for the Easter Bunny to fill.  They got lots of fun stuff and of course some candy and to get rid of the sugar on their teeth from the candy...a new toothbrush which the Easter Bunny brings every year.  (Thanks Brenda G for the great idea/tradition!!)  Before Connor went to bed last night he said that he hoped he got a new toothbrush from the Easter Bunny.  His had Buzz Lightyear on it just like his new toothpaste!

The boys walking to their baskets

Connor checking out what he got

Blake checking out his new bubbles

My sweet boys...This picture makes my heat smile!!!

Connor picked out both of these baskets last year.  Wasn't what I had in mind for either of them, but Connor insisted on having the snake basket, and he thought Blake needed the airplane basket.

We headed out to church for breakfast, Sunday School and of course Worship Service which was spectacular.  Then we met up with Aaron's brother and his wife for lunch follow.  Blake was so exhausted I figured he'd take a great nap.  But, he only slept for an hour in the car on the way to Nana and Grandaddy's house.  So, we're now childless and not sure what to do with ourselves.  We went to a friend's house tonight for a grillout and then hung out at their fire pit.  It was nice to just sit and relax and not worry about the kids running off or Blake getting into the fire pit.  I know they are having a great time with Nana and Grandaddy and will for the rest of the week.  Now I think I"ll head off to bed.  Good night all!

Glimpses of Our Weekend

Wow!  What a wonderful weekend we have had.  It all started with the arrival of Nana and Grandaddy Friday afternoon.  The boys were so excited for them to come for a visit.  Upon their request, we had grilled hamburgers for supper.  I think Aaron has almost perfected his hamburger recipe.  It's been kind of a running joke between Aaorn and myself that his hamburgers aren't as good as our friend Aaron B's hamburgers but he got really close this time.  I'd say within the next couple of grillings he'll have it down pat.

After supper I got the great idea that we'd go to a local bakery for cupcakes and a visit to the depot for the kids to play around on the trains.  We got there just time in to get some cupcakes before they closed.  Then we went down to the depot and had a little cupcake picnic.  Aaron and I got strawberry, Connor got chocolate and Rick and Brenda had carrot cake cupcake.  They were wonderful.  Then the kids enjoyed playing around on the trains.  Blake especially enjoyed ringing the train's bell.

Saturday was a very busy day for me.  I decided to dump all of the tubs with kids' clothes out in the floor and start reorganizing all of them according to size.  I really needed to get the infant clothes sorted so that Tish could take those on to her house for Reece to use.  That was such a chore.  I had no idea it would take me so long.  But, I am so glad it is done.  I ended up with 2 tubs that just had 0-3 months clothes in one and 3-6 month clothes in the other.  That's what you get when your kids are born in different seasons...TONS OF CLOTHES!!!  Now I've got all the kids' clothes organized all the way up to size 7 (Joy has already given more some of Alex's clothes that are that size).

Aaron also decided to try to perfect his rib making this weekend as well.  He started with a rib rub that he put on the ribs Friday night.  Then he whipped up some other concoction with a tons of spices in it.  He cooked them in the oven for about 3 hours which made my house smell heavenly.  Then he cooked them on the grill for 45 minutes.  They were really good.  There are 2 spices he plans to leave out the next time.  But, other than that, they were pretty good.

Funny story in closing.  As we are sitting at the table eating, Aaron starts going around the table getting Blake to say each of our names.  He goes through Nana and Grandaddy, Alan, Connor, Mommy, Daddy and then gets to Tish.  Whenever Aaron would tell him to say Tish, Blake would make a kissy face and sound.  He did it over and over.  So, evidently whenever we say Tish, he hears kiss.  It is too cute, though.  He even did it again today at lunch when we tried to get him to say Tish.

Good Friday Fun

Today has turned into somewhat of a mirror image of yesterday.  Don't worry, hopefully this blog won't be.  We did get up and going fairly early so that Connor could make it to his swimming lesson at 8:15.  One funny story from swimming lessons.  During lessons, Amy put a weighted letter on the bottom of the pool for him to go after.  You will probably remember from an earlier post that he's very good at this, and it happens to be one of his favorite parts of lessons.  So, today Amy put the letter on the bottom of the pool, and he would go after it, drop it and come back up to the top.  This cycle continued and continued.  Occasionally he could come up with the letter.  I thought this was very strange considering how good he had done previously in the 4 feet area and this was the 3 feet area.  Once lessons was over and he was showering and trying to convince me to let him stay in the shower for 30 minutes, the truth finally came out.  "Mom, you know why I couldn't get those letters to the top of the water?  I kept dropping them on purpose so that I could keep going under water over and over again!"  Can you believe that?  That little booger!  Like Amy wouldn't have let him keep doing it anyways.

When I went to pick up Blake from YPlay upstairs I noticed I had gotten a text asking if we would like to meet a different friend at a different church playground to play.  Of course Connor was tickled and wanted to go.  We had to get some groceries first and straighten the house a little first.  So, I convinced Connor to do a lot of the housework for me so that we could get it done faster and head over to the church even faster.  He did a pretty good job.  So, pretty much like yesterday we went over there to play and eat lunch, come home, shower and throw them in the bed again for a nap.

Here are a couple of pictures I got at the playground.  This bag of popcorn tasting puffs were a major hit with all the kids (Thanks, Summer!)  At first Annie was feeding them to Blake (what a little mother...and there are only 8 weeks difference in them!  HA!) until he bit her finger as she was putting a puff in his mouth.  Too bad I didn't teach her that trick that we have all learned about getting our fingers out of the way FAST!  He means serious business when it comes to food. Then Connor started feeding the 2 little ones.  The kids has a fantastic time.

Have a great Easter weekend and remember the true meaning of this wonderful holiday.  Jesus died for my sins and your sins and rose on the third day!  Praise the Lord!!

An Outside Kind of Day

What a beautiful week this has turned out to be.  Today we were invited to meet some friends at a local church's playground.  We packed up a lunch and off we went.  Connor and Blake both had a terrific time.  Blake loves, loves, loves the swings.  He got so mad at me when I asked if he wanted to get down to play with Connor.  Connor asked if we could go back there again sometime.  Hopefully this will be a weekly tradition over the next few weeks.  I was totally unprepared and forgot the camera!  I thought of it as I was packing the bag, but the thought escaped before I actually made it to get the camera.  So, sorry, no pictures today either.  Both kids were DIRTY by the time we got home.  So, I threw them in the tub, scrubbed them down and put them to bed, yes, even with wet hair.  Blake had skipped his morning nap so he was practically begging to go down for a nap.  Connor admitted to be very tired and ready for bed as well.  This was very surprising because it was only 1:00.  But, I wasn't arguing with them.  I was tired myself.  Today was my 3:40 morning to be up, and I was pretty exhausted myself.  So, we all took naps today.

Connor was in desperate need of a haircut, so we went and did that after a nap.  Then I took him over to Aaron's office for the two of them to go to Connor's first soccer practice of the season.  I need to do some Easter shopping without Connor so this was the perfect time.  I'll not be able to take Blake next year with me.  Aaron said Connor had a terrific practice.  He never got caught on the red light, green light game.  He was able to steal the ball away from the coach first of all his team mates and when the team was racing to kick balls in the goal, Connor got the first two balls in the goal.  Hopefully this will be his best season.

Tomorrow we have a make-up swim lesson at 8:15, so it will be an early morning for us.  The in-laws are coming in town tomorrow afternoon, so we've got to prepare for their arrival including getting some hamburger grilling stuff as well as rib grillings stuff.

I'll close with this remark..."I'M SO GLAD IT IS WARM!!!!"  What a blessed day.  My heart smiled a lot!
